The Burndy (GAR1426) is a mechanical grounding connector, adaptable for either a parallel or vertical copper cable connection, designed for reliable cable to rod or pipe grounding connections. This connector supports solid copper cables from 4 AWG up to stranded copper cables of 2/0 AWG. It is compatible with #7 to #8 rebar, rods sized 7/8" to 1", and copper pipe sized 3/4" to 1”. The connector is made of bright dipped cast high copper alloy with Durium silicon bronze hardware for durability and corrosion resistance.
Meza Company (affiliate of HD Work Gear) uses this grounding clamp whenever the water service pipe is used in any combination with the electrical grounding systems. The GAR1426 works well with a 1-in. dia. copper pipe. Our most recent install was a 400amp 2-gang meter center for a ADU setup (multi-family). Usually the first thing the city inspector looks at when approaching the property is the cold water ground connection at the water service pipe; the GAR1426 ground connector is impressive (professional level install) and make the overall inspection process easier.
